Oh how I love the hospital

Kendall spent the night at my parents house Friday so that I could go to kickboxing Saturday morning. A little before 7 grandma called and I thought "this better be good b/c yes you're watching my daughter but GEEZ I had another hour or so to sleep!" Grandma apologized and said Kendall has been up off and on since 2 and she just threw up and wants you. Why me? You've got grandma there - let her clean that stuff up :) JUST KIDDING. So in a daze I drove to my parents house. Kendall continued to throw up every 20-30 minutes for the next about oh 7 hours?!?!? She refused food (which if you read one of my previous posts you'd know that Kendall refusing food is like me not talking....) and when she did try for a sip of water it came right back up. I didn't want to be one of "those" moms that calls for everything - but she hadn't gone potty since the night before which was like 9:30 at night. It was now like 5:30 pm. So I called and the nurse on call said for sure to bring her to ER so they could give her some fluids at least. The doctors and nurses there were awesome and I must say it was a slow night for the ER so she picked a good time to be ill. And minus the lady across the hall yelling loudly every 10 minutes for someone to "change my bed pan please" - it wasn't all that horrible to be there. The first doctor that came looked like he was in high school so that's depressing that I am now feeling/looking older than a doctor. I had to have her pee in a bowl (fun times) and surprisingly she had a little left in her so they weren't going to give her an IV but another doctor came and said ah why not it isn't gonna hurt her to have some extra in there. The nurse that had to put the IV in her was great! She never cried. The little board he put under her arm to keep her from bending it - he called it a surfboard and put her name on it. Kendall brought her baby and the nurse did everything to the baby that he was doing to Kendall. Oh and as a side note - her new baby's name is also Kendall. The second he got that IV going - she did a complete 180 and was talking his arm off. They also gave her some anti nausea medicine and that must have helped because she has not thrown up since right before we left for the hospital. She is making up for not eating yesterday because the first thing she said this morning was "i want Life" and she had two bowls of it. We got to grandma's today and grandpa had bought her a donut and she ate 1/2 of it (the good half, she eats donuts from the top down to make sure she gets all the frosting). I figured with all that fluid though that she'd be going to the bathroom a lot today - but her morning potty was just like normal and she's gone about every 4 hours today which is about what she usually does so she must have been completely empty! I took some pictures but at that point - she had lots of fluid in her so she is just smiling and happy.

Here is baby Kendall with her arm on a "surfboard"

~oh yes and I meant to add - how come most kids just get the flu and puke a few times and are done? Kendall always seems to puke non stop and get dehydrated??!!? oh well maybe it's just me but geez kid there are other ways to get me to let you stay up later!

babies babies babies

Kendall loves all babies. Her play babies and real ones. She finally got to meet baby Isaiah on Tuesday night. She did pretty good with him. But she tries to show him things and puts it like a centimeter from his face - which is funny to me, but his eyes kept bugging out of his head like geez kid get that thing away from me!
I sat Isaiah up to burp him - and he was so comfy he fell asleep. So yes, he is just sleeping away right in my hand. I kept trying to take him home - but his mom wouldn't let me!
Oh yes and as you can see ~ Kendall also had a blast with Aleeyah. Aleeyah will be 9 the end of this month but she is WONDERFUL with Kendall. Last time we were there it was right after Christmas and some of Aleeyah's toys weren't even out of the box but if Kendall wanted it - she opened it and let her play with it. What 9 year old lets a 3 year old play with a new toy before they get to? Well, maybe they do and I was just a greedy 9 year old back in the day.

Daddy's metabolism???

Oh my word - If Kendall continues to eat like she has been the last few weeks, she will eat me out of house and home. And then with all the eating - her pants are falling off of her? Must be nice!!!! her 4T's are too short (well my mom says they're not, but I have an issue with short pants) and the 5T's are just right but WAY TOO BIG in the waist. An example of her eating - last night she had three helpings of macaroni and cheese, half a cup of applesauce and half of a HUGE apple. Then before bed we snacked on chips and salsa and she ate more than I did (which is a shock in itself). Well I guess more power to her. I will not complain because I would love a fast metabolism. And I will also not complain because she is an awesome eater. I will have to thank my mom because when she was younger and starting to eat more of "our" food - I was ready to give her something else just so she'd eat - but she said "she'll eat if she's hungry enough". So I stuck it out and sometimes when it was snack time - she got her plate of food leftover from dinner. She was a quick learner because so far I've only done this twice :) I felt super mean doing it (well.....) but hey - she eats good now so who cares right? And don't anybody tell my mom I said she was right about something - I'd hate for her to know that!! :)

Dentist

Kendall's second trip to the dentist went great. I had found a spot on one of her back teeth awhile back and - yup - she had a "decay" on there and another tooth. The dentist said her teeth have a lot of grooves in them and brushing is extremely important (well duh, isn't it for all of us?) He told me until she can write in cursive that I need to help with brushing her teeth. They gave her a nice "ice cream" shaped toothbrush. (the kind that takes batteries, I cannot for the life of me think of what they're called) She has been awesome about her brushing them first and then I do it afterwards. So Thursday we had the cavities filled and they do a thing now called "air brasion" so they don't have to numb her or anything. She brought her baby with her and they both got to ride in the chair and pick out a prize afterwards. Because of the light they shine right at your face - they give kids sunglasses to wear. I think this is her favorite part. She never moved a muscle, said for them to stop or anything. When they needed her to open wider, she listened. I was impressed. And after watching - I think I'd rather have the old school filling done because the air brasion way pretty much just sand blasts your tooth so her mouth looked like it was full of chalk. But she still didn't care. I think she just didn't want to take the sunglasses off! I'd rather she not ever have to have it done again so we are dilligent about brushing - but I'm still glad if it does have to happen that she could care less about going to the dentist.

Bunnies

The pictures are a little fuzzy because I took them with my phone. We had lunch with Heather's family on Sunday and her sister has a few bunnies. Well - they used to be bunnies, now they are huge. She brought them inside for Kendall to enjoy - and boy did she ever. She kept trying to feed them carrots but they were not ready for a snack. They were so stinking cute and some of the softest rabbits ever. I was surprised - but she actually let Heather set them right on her lap. It was adorable!

3 Year check up

Kendall's 3 year check up was yesterday and it went well. Her BMI is slowly going down. At two years she was in the 95th percentile and now at three she is way down to the.....90th :) I know, not much but the doctor said she'd worry if she just started jumping on down the scale. Kendall, of course, talked the doctor's arm off. She said Kendall is right where she should be and that she's a smart cookie. Which made me happy, but then she added "if you had a good two year old, you're going to have a horrible three year old". I was like, are you reading my mind? Our last week has been nothing but a power struggle! She said to just continue giving her choices to make her think she's in charge (not choices like, what would you like to wear) but to give her two options and let her pick. So far this has worked, but I have a feeling she's going to catch on soon.

Her potty accidents are few and far between. Sometimes it's just that she waits until the last possible second to go and a little comes out before she sits down. But hey - I"ll take that. Bedtime has been a struggle lately - so we have been "dancing" on the way into her bedroom. I'm sure if anybody was witness to this, they would laugh at me because Kendall just cracks up. If any of you listen to WGRD in the morning - they have a song on there "peanut butter jelly time" and that is normally what we dance to.

Terrible Three's??

Wow have we had a fun few days. Sunday night Kendall would NOT go to sleep. She is taking medicine for a sinus infection so at first I thought "oh heck just come in my bed". Yeah, well that didn't work. She fussed, cried, whined SCREAMED until 4 a.m. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??? I don't think I've been that frustrated since she was an infant. I finally just turned the TV on and said don't get off the couch and I went in my room. Somewhere in there she put her babies in their bed and then she got in bed. Needless to say, yesterday was a VERY long day.

So today I think I've realized she just wants the CONTROL. Which I do not give up easily. As Aunt Stacey said to me "the monkey's do NOT run the circus". She wants to brush her own teeth with no assistance, she wants to pick out her own clothes, she wants to open the fridge and get her water. She had a meltdown this morning when I didn't let her pick her outfit out. And when I take off from her what I just picked out and tell her to go pick something out then, she gives me a snotty little grin like HA I got what I wanted. oooh that was oh so pleasant. So I guess now I'll lay two outfits out in the morning and let her pick - that way she still has a little control.....MONKEY

Happy 3rd Birthday Kiki!!

As I've said before - wow does the time fly. Where have the past 3 years gone? Well after going to Kolton's birthday at Chuck E Cheese in June of this year, it is ALL Kendall talked about. She just HAD to have her birthday there. I thought oh great, day after christmas is either gonna be crazier than normal there, or dead. Luckily, it was the slowest I'd EVER seen the place. Kendall finally got her Little Mermaid party at Chuck E Cheese (and Lynee' got her a Little Mermaid sweatshirt for the occasion, PERFECT). She was so excited when we pulled into the parking lot she was speechless (which as all of you know, does not happen often). Kendall got LOADS of presents (thank you) and she had such a blast with her friends. I don't know who had the most fun though, the kids or the big kids like grandpa, daddy, allen, uncle andy....it was definitely a toss up....
So on we go with the 3rd year - Kendall has such an imagination and just talks my arm off so there is definitely never a dull moment. Aunt Becky watched her the week of Christmas and all she had to say was "man is that girl exhausting". Yes Beck, I have to agree with you. But it's so fun to see what she's gonna say or do next that it makes it all worth it.
Meijer makes some awesome cakes! There was not a piece left either :(

this would be daddy playing a game.....one of many
